Tennis Fever

The Mubadala Tennis Championships just ended. We watched #1 and #2 in action just right here at the Zayed Sports City. Since learning how to play tennis proper, and since Steveywonder caught this tennis bug, we've been playing, and talking about the game, and watching lots of youtube videos on tennis for the past year.

I have never 追偶像 in my life before. But when they are just so near me, I thought - maybe I would have a chance to take a photograph with Nadal or Djokovic. Haha. And it was also Ernest's passion that perhaps fuelled this. So, I found myself standing by the railings hoping to catch a glimpse of Djokovic and to get a photo together. Inshallah.

And... it didn't happen according to my wish. Alas.
He went straight towards a group of kids. So many people were shouting "Novak Pls!"

Still, we managed to get some really cool shots.

My second time at a professional tennis game. I am so glad I live in the Sports City.

Caught him in action in the practice court. The #1 man currently, from Serbia.
He really was good - slick, fluid, precise, fast, calm, steady.

Nadal - #2. So charming. Pic, courtesy of Steve.

Dominic Thiem - World #4, from Austria. Steve says he is very handsome. Agree.

And the greats - including the William sisters, courtesy of Mubadala WTC.

And I like the whole carnival and games feel. With food trucks, with wilson gear booths, with tennis educational booths, etc - really a whole weekend of tennis fun and education. We spent some time just enjoying the atmosphere, walking around, enjoying the food trucks. This whole place really came alive!

For me and Steve - a year of tennis in review. :-D

Definitely looking forward to even more tennis in 2019!
